This seminar will be the starting point of a new VUB-UGent research alliance for the study of experimental Dutch literature in an international context: the SEL (Study Centre for Experimental Literature). The lectures discuss the activities, literary work and ideas of Jan Walravens (1920-1965), the leading figure of the experimental movement in Flanders in the fifties and sixties. SEL aims to make a round-up of all the research problems related to the study of experimental literature and addresses itself to all researchers who are interested in its theoretical bias.
