What?

Two successive interactive workshops that will provide you with the skills to set up a good presentation of your research for conferences or colloquia.
The powerpoint tool will be introduced by showing the six commandments that give you the worst possible powerpoint presentation. We then discuss the pro and cons of your own 3-slide presentation that you have prepared in advance. Attention will also be given to timing aspects, and to you, using powerpoint-to-impress-colleagues.
In the second workshop you’ll present a powerpoint showing your own research, and together we examine why it is so good. 

For whom?

This workshop is intended for PhD students who are member of a Doctoral School of the VUB or the UGent, who want to improve their presentation skills by using Powerpoint. 

Where and When?

The workshop shall take place on Tuesday the 9th AND Tuesday the 16th of March 2010 from 1p.m. until 4p.m. More information on the exact location shall be made available to you soon.

Price and Registration?

Participation is free of charge for PhD students enrolled at the VUB who are member of a Doctoral School. Registration for the workshops is required, and can be done here as of January 26th. Places are limited. The registration will (in principle) close two weeks prior to the start of the activity. After this closure, acceptance will be communicated to the participants and to the people on the waiting list, by e-mail.

We kindly ask you to register only once and only when you can actually participate. In case you have already registered but are not able to participate, please be so kind as to notify us by sending an e-mail to doctoral.schools@vub.ac.be so we can offer your place to one of your PhD colleagues on the waiting list.
