 VUB Spin-off Collibra wins start-up competition at European Semantic Technology

Collibra, an enterprise software company that enables organizations to manage business & IT in-tegration by defining the business concepts in their business context, today announced that it has won first prize at the 2009 European Semantic Technology Conference start-up competition in Vienna, Austria.

Out of all submissions, 16 start-ups from 10 countries were selected to present a 7-minute pitch for a panel of venture-capital investors and entrepreneurs. The panel was chaired by dr. Marc Greaves, Director Knowledge Systems at Vulcan, Inc. (Vulcan is the private investment vehicle of Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft).

Collibra was selected as most-promising start-up based on its professional management-team and investors, strong go-to-market model, and growing traction with customer and partners.
